Bethel AME Church of Ardmore combats food insecurity through its award-winning Ardmore Victory Gardens. Partnering with Trellis for Tomorrow and others, the church grows fresh produce on its grounds, distributes it to food banks, and equips families with home gardens. Volunteers have built dozens of garden beds and partnered with the Black Church Food Security Network to provide “Power Boxes” of culturally meaningful foods, blending faith, community, and sustainable food justice. Since its founding in 2018, Ardmore Victory Gardens has harvested over 5,000 pounds of produce, distributed at no cost to local food pantries and neighborhood residents.
